More Databases, Again

MORE DATABASES, AGAIN

I recently stumbled across Wellcome-images, the image library of the Wellcome Collection (concerning, as you might guess, all things medical). It's not just Victorian material, of course (far from it) but contains some fascinating pics ... I particularly liked the image of ear trumpets, a feature of Victorian life I had forgotten. Note the 'trumpet' swathed in crepe for mourning!

  1. I've found that the Wellcome Library has been very helpful in my Flea Circus research. They also have an online search that allows you to see what books are available from the library, these can be then ordered online so you can simply arrive at the desk and start reading. Becoming a member is very easy and their photocopy department are very helpful.
