Sadly, most films of Victorian life (there aren't many) are either
1. people walking about
2. pictures of the Tower Bridge / Windsor Castle / [other random well-known tourist landmark that hasn't changed in a hundred years]

This is wonderful footage. just have to imagine the colours... I am sure it would have been very bright and cheerful!
ReplyDeleteYes, it wasn't a black and white world, and it's hard to keep that in mind when you see these things. Colourful advertising would have been all over the passing buses, for a start.
